Frequently asked questions about online mixing
What is online mixing with Mixnov?
Online mixing consists of balancing your sources (vocals, instrumental or separate tracks) without using a physical studio. With Mixnov, you upload your files to your Beathoven dashboard, compare the outputs and keep the version that best serves your track.
Which files should you prepare?
For a vocal and instrumental workflow, two files of the same work, aligned and at the same tempo. For a multitrack workflow, stems exported from the same starting point. Avoid files that are already compressed or clipped: a good online mix starts from clean sources.
Mixing or mastering: what's the difference?
Mixing balances the elements within the track; mastering finalises the stereo file for distribution. They are two distinct stages: once your mix is approved, you can finalise it with Mastelio. The article audio mixing on Wikipedia summarises the concepts well.
How much does Mixnov's online mixing cost?
Mixnov is charged per unit (from €6.90 incl. VAT) or in packs; the exact price and availability are confirmed in the app before payment. With Beathoven Studio, one final mix is included with each period.
