The story

Collaboration with the artist Gabriel

The emergence of a distinctive composer on the contemporary scene

In a constantly evolving musical landscape, some artists succeed in blending the heritage of the past with the sensibilities of the present. Gabriel Berdichevsky is one of them. A pianist and composer based in Paris, he stands out for a neo‑classical approach that combines the harmonic richness of German Romanticism with the intimate textures of contemporary minimalism.

With his new single Intermezzo in F major, taken from the album Études pastel (released on 2 June 2025), Berdichevsky asserts his artistic vision: elegant, narrative and deeply human. A look back at an atypical journey and a successful digital campaign by Beathoven Agency.

🧬 A musical heritage nurtured from an early age

Born into a family of musicians, Gabriel Berdichevsky took to the piano very early. Far from a conventional academic path, he developed his playing as a self‑taught musician, exploring classical repertoire with free, passionate curiosity.

It was with the concert pianist Guzélya Prokofieva that he refined his technique, until he settled in Paris in 2020, where he discovered new venues, playing in piano bars and forging a style of his own.

🎼 A musical aesthetic between Mahler, Max Richter and Hania Rani

Berdichevsky's compositions sit within a dual lineage. On one side, the powerful influence of Germanic composers like Gustav Mahler or Richard Wagner, whose taste for harmonic tension and drama he shares. On the other side, the emotional finesse of contemporary musicians like Max Richter or Hania Rani, who cultivate the art of silence and atmosphere.

His symphonic suite inspired by Macbeth, multiple award-winner in 2024, demonstrates this ability to combine tradition and innovation, orchestral grandeur and introspection.

🎶 “Intermezzo”: a work that blends lyricism and modernity

A standout excerpt from the new album Études pastel

‘Intermezzo in F major, available on YouTubeis a piece for piano and orchestra, shaped like a poetic breath. In this piece, Gabriel Berdichevsky weaves a dialogue between the strings and the piano, in a style that is both pared-back and expressive.

With its fluid structure, its impressionistic accents and its rich emotional palette, the Intermezzo stands out as an ideal introduction to the world of Études pastel, an album conceived as a series of narrative miniatures.
